Infrared Wellness Meets Inclusive Yoga

About Us

OUR MISSION

Bottoms Up Yoga Studio was founded in 2016 by Trish Gavin, who turned to yoga several years earlier in search of healing after experiencing personal tragedy and loss. Over time, her practice helped her heal, inspiring her to become a yoga teacher and share the transformative benefits of yoga with others. Early in her practice, Trish often felt unwelcome at other studios because, as she put it, she was a "plus-size" yogi. Determined to create a space where everyone felt accepted, regardless of shape, size, experience, or ability, she vowed to open a studio built on inclusivity. Trish began teaching yoga in her basement to a small group of students, holding firm to her belief that yoga is for everybody. Within two years, that small community of yogis outgrew the basement, and Bottoms Up Yoga Studio relocated to its current location on Main Street in Spanish Fork

Over the years, the studio's class offerings have expanded, and it has undergone a couple of ownership changes, with each new owner bringing fresh ideas and innovations to the space.

The current owner, Heidi Sweat, a stay-at-home mom of nine children, first discovered Bottoms Up Yoga Studio in 2019, seeking both fitness and peace during a challenging period in her life. “I was so nervous to go at first. I’ve never been particularly athletic or coordinated, and like many people, I felt anxious about what others might think,” she recalls. However, what she found at Bottoms Up was a warm, welcoming community where she immediately felt accepted. Through her practice, Heidi not only found peace and solace but also experienced profound healing and self-acceptance.

I Never Imagined I’d Own A Yoga Studio, I’m A Student, Not A Teacher.

When Bottoms Up Yoga faced closure in 2024, Heidi couldn’t let it go. With the support of her husband’s business expertise, she stepped in to keep its legacy alive.

  • She’s committed to keeping Bottoms Up Yoga a welcoming space for all.

  • She believes yoga connects the body, mind, and soul in a powerful way.

  • Yoga meets you where you are, she says. And if you let it, it can transform your life.
